This web site was originally set up as Bogolan UK . It has now been revised and updated to provide an overview of my artwork as a whole – in particular the development of my tapestry art, which is assuming more importance alongside my painting and 3D work.
People who are interested in Bogolan will find all the original content still here – what Bogolan is, how it is made, my own explorations in the technique, information of contemporary Malian practitioners and – as before – the call to artists in the UK who may be interested in exploring Bogolan here.
Bogolan UK (see page). This is for artists who are interested in Bogolan, the art of Mali (West Africa), and developing it as a medium or source for ideas. Out of this may come a body of artists creating a form of “British Bogolan” with its own language and imagery. Ultimately there may be the possibility of developing links between UK artists and those in Mali.
