52 Days to Timbuktu
, Alison Richard Building, University of Cambridge, 7 West Road, CB3 9DT. Monday 6 October to Sunday 14 December 2014.
This was a restaging on my West House, Pinner, exhibition of September 2012, with new works completed since that date. As before the exhibition provides an overview of my work over a decade and a half, including tapestry, bogolan and thematically related paintings. The title of the show is taken from the sign in Zagora, southern Morocco, which indicates the time taken by camel to the fabled city of Timbuktu in Mali. It serves shorthand for the development of my art and ideas around sign and symbol.
